Olive Tree Planting for Peace
Conveying Recognition from the President of the Palestinian Authority for all those who have struggled for peace
Wahat al-Salam - Neve Shalom village to plant an olive tree for peace, on February 8, 2017 at 12:30.
This President of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas is sending an olive tree to Wahat al-Salam - Neve Shalom as a gesture of recognition for all those who have dedicated themselves to the struggle for peace between the Israeli and the Palestinian peoples. The occasion has special meaning this year that we mark 50 years of occupation and face a broadening shadow of hostility and hatred which poisons and undermines efforts for dialogue and peace between our two peoples.
Taking part in the ceremony will be several peace organizations, social activists and a choir of school children from the bilingual, bi-national school of Wahat al Salam / Neve Shalom, as well as singer Achinoam Nini (Noa).
We, the community, the administration and members of the village and its institutions, will continue to work for peace between the peoples, for advancement of justice and brotherhood, as we have for forty years. We have proved that there is no way other than to live in peace here together, Arabs and Jews, Palestinians and Israelis.
