Delegation of Swiss Friends of WAS-NS received by Mr. Ban Ki MoonTuesday 2 February 2016
In Zurich, on January 22, 2016 Mr. Ban Ki Moon, Secretary General of the United Nations received delegations of organizations involved in the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, resolution of which was adopted by the UN member states on September 25, 2015. The Swiss friends of NS WAS were invited as an organization that ’contributes to the agenda by implementing, following up and reviewing measures to promote peaceful and inclusive societies’ (pt 16 of the resolution).
To be invited to such an important event makes us proud and it shows that our work here and in Neve Shalom Wahat al Salam finds high recognition. This encourages us to be even more active in our work to support the peace activities of our friends in Neve Shalom Wahat al Salam.
