Visit by heads of German welfare organizations

A distinguished group comprising heads and senior members of many German welfare organizations visited Wahat al-Salam - Neve Shalom in the framework of a current official tour of the country.

Head of the municipal council Adnan Mana and Group Visits director Rita Boulos greeted and welcomed them in the village. Bob Mark gave an introductory talk in German. Nava Sonnenschein spoke to them and answered questions about the School for Peace. Then, on their brief tour of the village, Carmella Ferber spoke to them and answered questions about the Primary School.

The group showed keen interest in the educational work of the village and asked many incisive questions.

The visit concluded with lunch in the Guest House dining room.

Among the visitors were Dr. Ralf Kleindiek, State Secretary, the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth; Prof. Dr. Rolf Rosenbrock (Chairman) and Mr. Jörg Freese, from the Union of Welfare Organisations; Mrs. Donata Baroness Schenk zu Schweinsberg (Vice President) and Barone Hauprecht Schenck zu Schweinsberg from the German Red Cross; Mr. Wilhelm Schmidt (President) and Mr. Wofgang Stadler (Chairman) from the Workers Welfare Federal Association; Mr. Ulrich Lilie (President), Mrs. Lilie, Mrs. Maria Loheide and Mr. Jung from the Social Service Agency of the Evangelic Church of Germany; Prof. Dr. Georg Cremer (Sect. Gen.) from German Caritas; Dr. Gerhard Timm (Director) from the Federal Union of Non-Statutory Welfare Services; Mr. Abraham Lehrer (Chairman), Mr. Benjamin Bloch (Director) and Mrs. Miriam Bloch, from the Central Welfare Organization of Jews in Germany.
