NADI Youth Club
The NADI clubhouse, run by a youth coordinator, is open several afternoons a week and offers a summer program. The clubhouse is a cheerful, open space where the kids can play, hang out, or participate in activities led by the coordinator, volunteers or parents. Other activities take place outdoors, especially in the forest and hiking trails surrounding the village, and the pool and parks over the summer.
Indoor and outdoor games, outings and parties, arts and crafts, movies, sport and music lessons, and cooperative projects are all a part of the NADI experience.
The NADI is especially important to the older children, as, when they finish sixth grade, they go on to learn in different schools. The NADI thus gives the post-primary-schoolers an avenue to reconnect, and the clubhouse is used by the older youth for parties and a place to chill during the week.
For the older group, gaining leadership skills and volunteering are stressed. As the young people reach their final high school years, Palestinian and Jewish youth face different life choices. The NADI is a place where identity and commitment to peace and equality can be discussed, and the village youth can think about their futures within this framework.
