Oasis Art Gallery
Art is a universal language. Around the planet, art crosses borders, combines expressions, explores and discovers styles, cultures and colors.
Art is a pathway to the heart.
The Oasis Art Gallery attracts a wide range of artists, as well as visitors of all ages to WASNS, bringing people into the village who might not otherwise take an interest or make the trip. In the Oasis Art Gallery, located on the ground floor of the Peace Library, they encounter ways of life, thoughts and ideas that encompass all of humanity.
Palestinian and Jewish artists collaborate and participate in the Gallery’s mixed group exhibits. The exhibits, which are renewed every few months, each take on a subject related to the conflict, social, environmental, and cultural issues.
The Gallery courtyard is where artists meet one another and meet with Gallery visitors, where collaborative projects take place and where children come to create art with the Oasis Art Gallery curator, Dyana Shaloufi Rizek. There is also studio space used by individuals and groups, and groups of children and adults come to the Gallery for workshops, in which they create art inspired by the exhibitions or by the beautiful village and its surroundings.
The Gallery also has several outreach programs, including collaborations with other galleries and museums, and an “artists hosting artists” program.
The Gallery is open to all, upon request. Workshops may be offered, upon request, as well.
