We are pleased to announce that the Board of Directors of the Neve Shalom Wahat al-Salam Educational Institutions Association has appointed Mohamad Marzouk as the Association’s Executive Director.
For the past thirty years, Mohamad Marzouk has worked in community leadership and development within Palestinian society, as well as in joint Palestinian-Jewish initiatives aimed at building a shared society in which Palestinians achieve justice and equality. During his career, he has supported dozens of community initiatives in the Triangle region as director of Shatil’s Triangle branch. He has also helped develop and facilitate dozens of workshops and courses on activism and community leadership.
In the field of joint Palestinian-Jewish work, Mohamad began his career as a dialogue group facilitator and has helped lead hundreds of dialogue workshops for students, educators and civil society activists. He has also contributed to the development of numerous educational and community projects at shared institutions throughout the country.
Over the past decade, Mohamad worked at Hand in Hand, where he played a central role in establishing four bilingual schools. As Director of the Communities Department, he developed Hand in Hand’s unique model of joint community work around its shared schools. He also established Palestinian-Jewish dialogue as a professional field within the organization and managed its Dialogue Department from its inception. In addition, he initiated an alumni project and a university student dialogue project. He also launched Hand in Hand’s annual conference for the leadership of its communities and bilingual schools, which he managed for several years.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Nir Sharon for his years of dedicated leadership of the Association and wish him every success in the future.
We wish Mohamad every success in his new role. We are confident that his extensive experience, abilities and vision will contribute greatly to the continued important work of the Educational Institutions Association in Wahat al-Salam Neve Shalom, especially during this challenging period.
Best wishes,
The Board of Directors
Neve Shalom Wahat al-Salam Educational Institutions Association
