Pluralistic Spiritual Community Center

The Pluralistic Spiritual Community Center (PSCC) was established in memory of WASNS founder Fr. Bruno Hussar. It is a non-denominational complex that enables spiritual reflection, whether in the dome shaped House of Silence (Beit Ha-Doumia / Bayt as-Sakinah), with windows overlooking the green “Shfela” valley and Latrun monastery, or in the courtyards, halls and open spaces extending down the hillside.

Spiritual reflection may be embraced in community holiday celebrations, in the mindfulness or yoga classes that take place there, or in nation-wide interfaith leadership meetings hosted by the PSCC. For some, it is a site for quiet meditation or prayers for peace, for others, a place to share the joys of community.

Events held in the PSCC include community meetings, films, artistic presentations and panel discussions, book launchings, and international peace and women’s day events. People outside the village are often invited to the celebrations held in the PSCC, including nuns from Bethlehem, local religious leaders and local residents.

Among the initiatives of the PSCC is the GARIWO  Garden of Rescuers, which honors those who acted to save and protect others from human rights crises and natural disasters. The rescuers are commemorated in signs hung from the olive trees planted in a grove next to the PSCC, with shaded stone benches overlooking vistas that inspire hopeful thoughts. Each year in March, new rescuers are honored on the European Day of the Righteous, and  added to the Garden. The stories of these rescuers are now collected online, so that visitors can read about those who risked their lives to save others.

Organizations or instructors can rent space in the PSCC for meetings, classes or events.
