New Student Council Meets
The primary school student council met for the first time in November. This year the heads of the student council are Ahava Aviv and Azmi Othman. Principal Neama greeted the elected representatives, telling them she was looking forward to working with them and that they had won the trust of their fellow students.
“I expect, in our work together, to change some things and I have high expectations of you – we will, together, plan a lot of activities that will help the school succeed. We’ll talk today about your needs, and we’ll try to work on these things together. For example, last year, the student council raised the issue of the need for a sports field. With some help from the Friends Association and the parents, that dream became a reality.”
The student council will be guided by two teachers: Yohai and Nadwa.
Zina, a fifth-grader, was ready with her idea: She suggested opening the gym during breaks so that kids could play when it rains.
Naomi also had a suggestion: “I want to work with an animal shelter. Once a month, we could take one of the grades to volunteer there.”
